Gulf Coast Cluster for Translational Imaging

Our goals for the Translational Imaging cluster are to expand our scope beyond MRI and also include other in vivo imaging modalities including but not limited to PET, CT, optical imaging and ultrasound. Additionally, to comprehensively address imaging science as a holistic discipline, we will expand the scope to include chemists and nanotechnologists who synthesize imaging agents, researchers with expertise in image processing and representation and feedback from clinicians. We will unite our unique and complementary expertise to not only bolster imaging research with the GCC affiliated institutions but also make some of these novel imaging advances available to PIs whose research could truly benefit from using imaging as a tool. We will actively promote interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research and instrumentation grants that leverage existing strengths and create new opportunities for researchers at GCC institutions.
